I learned about the bigger things in life. I found that, I shouldnt really worry about my life because Jesus says he will take care of it and he always does. I learned how to lead. I learned that you dont need to portray a bad person for people to like you. You can simply be your self. I learned that I have to not be in fear of anything I do but instead have confidence in my self. I think one thing that I didnt do well was always give my best effort. I am sure that if I wanted too I could be on the honor roll but I didnt seem to care enough to do so. I really improved on bible knowledge and how it applies to my life and others. I have confidence that if I work at anything hard enough at anything I will achieve anything.
My favorite quote this year came from a friend of mine. His name is Steve Thomas. He is 6'8 and plays as a import in many countries. I met him right before a RP Team practice. He is one of the nicest guys I know. In fact, i went to one of his games and he gave me a ride home after. It was awesome.
Steve just so happens to be a Christian. He is a great guy. On our way home from his game we were talking about basketball. He shared with me a great quote that has grown on me.
Steve Thomas says, "Hard work always beats talent because talent doesnt work hard."
I have never been the most athletic on the basketball court and never had a edge. All of the kids in the states are all more talented than me but the reason i was better is because I worked hard. To this day, at RP practice there a lot of guys more talented than me but I always work the hardest. That quote encouraged me so much because its so true to me. I have always had to work harder to be the best. Im still not the best but I know that if I work hard enough, I will be the best.
