What during my second year as a Freshman

I learned about the bigger things in life. I found that, I shouldnt really worry about my life because Jesus says he will take care of it and he always does.  I learned how to lead. I learned that you dont need to portray a bad person for people to like you. You can simply be your self. I learned that I have to not be in fear of anything I do but instead have confidence in my self. I think one thing that I didnt do well was always give my best effort. I am sure that if I wanted too I could be on the honor roll but I didnt seem to care enough to do so. I really improved on bible knowledge and how it applies to my life and others. I have confidence that if I work at anything hard enough at anything I will achieve anything.

My favorite quote this year came from a friend of mine. His name is Steve Thomas. He is 6'8 and plays as a import in many countries. I met him right before a RP Team practice. He is one of the nicest guys I know. In fact, i went to one of his games and he gave me a ride home after. It was awesome.

Steve just so happens to be a Christian. He is a great guy. On our way home from his game we were talking about basketball. He shared with me a great quote that has grown on me.

Steve Thomas says, "Hard work always beats talent because talent doesnt work hard."

I have never been the most athletic on the basketball court and never had a edge. All of the kids in the states are all more talented than me but the reason i was better is because I worked hard. To this day, at RP practice there a lot of guys more talented than me but I always work the hardest. That quote encouraged me so much because its so true to me. I have always had to work harder to be the best. Im still not the best but I know that if I work hard enough, I will be the best.

Bullying

Bullying is a problem in every part of the world. There have been so many reports world wide about kids killing themselves because of bullies. I my self have never really been bullied because I never let it happen. I was smart enough to figure out that the moment a person tries to "punk" you, you have to fight back and not let it happen. What bullies do is they figure out who is weak, then they try hurt them physically or mentally.

Numerous times I have seen lives destroyed or changed for the worst because of bullies.  On every basketball team I have been on, there has always been the guy that gets picked or gets beat up. Why you ask? Well, they let it happen. I have noticed that 50% of bullied people always bring it upon themselves to get bullied. They always try to draw attention to themselves and/or make dumb or uneducated comments at the wrong time. Then there is another 25% that let themselves get bullied because they want the attention. Lastly, there is the 25% who get bullied out of bad luck.

Children, please  dont alow your selves to get bullied. Once you notice someone trying to hurt you in any way, you need to stop it. Its for your own good.

Maintain Peace

I am sure that as a Christian, you probably have been criticized about your faith. I just want to say, those who criticize you are exactly the type of people that you need to reach out too. Please do not retaliate and do something that will give Christians a bad name. I just pray that you will receive power from the Spirit to change their evil ways. Let them see that there is hope in there lives because there truly is. There is hope in the name of Jesus. There is no such thing called Revenge in the Kingdom of God.

Unworthy

I am a sinner. I am not worthy of a savior. I am only worthy of one thing and one thing only..... HELL. I have forsaken my Savior many times but yet every time I do the Shepard always brings me back into his arms. Through Christ I am saved. What makes me worthy of anybody dieing for me and my sins. He had the worse beating in history. He was put on a cross for MY sins. God loves me so much that he was willing to die and take the worlds worst beating for my everyday sins. My mind is at peace because I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and I have repented my sins. I don't deserve the peace of mind that I posses. I am not worthy of Eternity. I am forever in debt in which I cant pay back.

Save your self from the Wrath of God and accept him.

Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The Book of Romans

The book of Romans was written by Paul. This book was originally a letter written from Paul to the Christians in Rome during A.D. 57.
The book of Romans shows how Jesus' death makes us right with God and how Jesus will help us live a good life.
I think this book is because it truly captures the true beauty and power of God and it gives us a some tips on how to live life.
Some of my favorite verses from Romans:

In Romans 10:9, it shows the beauty of God and his Grace.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

In Romans 5:8, it shows Gods Love.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

In Romans 12:9, Paul tells us about how to love God.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

In Romans 12:1, Paul speaks to us about ways to worship.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

The Hostage Crisis

I thought that the Hostage Crisis took much longer than it should have. It lasted 12 hours when it should have lasted know where close to that. You could tell that the SWAT team needs special training. A sniper tried to shoot the tires and they hit the window, which put the peopke from Hong Kong in even more jeprody. The Snipers were not even that far away. You can tell that the SWAT team and the Police Department need exersize. They all have big bellies and when they tried to break the windows they got tired. There was not even any point in breaking the windows either. They tried to open the door of the bus with a rope but the rope broke. You would think that they would have at least used a stronger rope or a metal chain. When they tried to get in the bus they sent the only guy in the SWAT team that did not have body armor. When that same guy was climbing through the window,he got shot at and fell out the window.

A lot of Filipinos, including me, lost a lot of respect for the SWAT team and the Police Departmen here in the Philippines. In order to keep the streets of the Philippines violent free, they should at least start getting better training for these men.
